Instagram recently announced that it wanted to give each user the choice of displaying likes under posts. Already 2 years ago, Facebook' s fraternal social network wanted to put an end to social pressure by simply hiding likes under posts. Today, freedom of choice is the order of the day.
This option is currently being tested and the social network will offer :
- Hide the number of likes under the posts of followed accounts
- Hide likes on your own posts
- Change nothing at all
By leaving the choice up to each user, Instagram is reinforcing its desire to let everyone build a feed that's just like them, that meets their desires and expectations. Will Facebook follow suit? We'll keep you posted!
