You read everywhere—and elsewhere—that video is the must-have content on social media. AND it’s true! But how can you tell if your Facebook audience is receptive to this type of content on your page? And which formats are most effective: live streams, Stories, short videos, or long videos, …
Facebook Videos: How Do They Work?
I don't know about you, but for us, scrolling through the news feed is just like watching TV with someone who can't stop channel-surfing: oh, a cute kitten talking about Macron while wearing Joe Biden's mittens—who got vaccinated at a nursing home in Mons. Something like that.
To find out if your followers are engaging with your videos, there’s nothing better than checking the statistics provided by Facebook. This valuable tool—often overlooked due to a lack of time or knowledge—offers a goldmine of information to help you improve your performance on the social network. And the same goes for your videos, since here’s what Facebook offers in terms of stats:
Minutes Watched: The number of minutes the video waswatched
3-Second Video Views: The number of times the video was watched for at least three seconds or for nearly its entire duration, whichever comes first.
15-Second Video Views: The number of times the video was watched for at least fifteen seconds or for nearly its entire duration, whichever comes first.
One-minute video views: the number of times the video was watched for at least one minute or for nearly its entire duration, whichever comes first.
Average views in minutes: the total average duration watched by users, expressed in minutes.
Video interactions: the number of comments, likes, and shares.
These are different indicators, but each is important in its own way.
Through Creator Studio, you can access a wide range of detailed statistics, such as:
- minutes viewed
- audience retention
- interactions with a video
- 15-second video views
- organic or paid views…
If you have a good grasp of your page statistics, you'll gradually learn to identify and highlight the content that's best suited for your audience!
